1884 Early Match v Mountain United

On 26 April 1884 Illingworth played a fixture against Cragg Vale. Later, on 17 May they entertained an established neighbour, Mountain United’s 2nd XI. The clubs were regular opponents until 1896. Most of the scores detailed above are quite low, indicating the poor quality of pitches at the time. Kingston v the Board School is unusual in being a two-innings match.
