1919 Minute Book 2
Having extended its base beyond its church origins, Illingworth felt an obligation to provide the local community with the best cricket it could. This involved the immense cost of £200 - necessary to level the pitch and bring the facilities up to the standards of the Yorkshire Cricket Council. The appeal for financial help was directed at the district. One of the signatories is Harry Hustwick, regarded as the club’s most influential administrator.
