The Huddersfield Wanderers - Match against Golcar, 26 September 1903 Back row from left:
Lawrence Hirst, Hubert Smith, Leonard H.Beaumont, Scorer, W.E.D.Shaw, Wilfred
W.Rhodes, Joseph Hall (Umpire) Note the presence of the great Huddersfield triumvirate - Hirst, Rhodes and Haigh - in the Wanderers team. The photo is taken outside the old pavilion at Town End. Golcar had won the league title for the first time in 1903, so this would seem to be some kind of end-of-summer 'super cup' fixture against an obviously strong Wanderers line-up.
